Rain/mixed showers possible tonight, drying out Monday

Happy Winter Solstice!
The winter solstice marks the start of astronomical winter in the Northern Hemisphere. Today is the shortest day and longest night of the year, and from here, sunsets will slowly start getting later.
Central Oregon will see additional rain showers this afternoon and evening. Some snow may mix in later tonight, but little to no accumulation is expected.
Overnight lows fall into the 20s and 30s.
A Winter Weather Advisory continues for the Cascades until 4am, bringing steady snowfall. We’re looking at 3 to 7 inches of additional snow possible through early Monday morning. Be prepared for travel impacts.
Aside from a few lingering showers, Monday looks dry for the High Desert, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 40s.
Expect cloudy skies Tuesday, with rain and snow showers developing by the evening. Showers linger into early Christmas Eve, then taper off, with quieter conditions and partly sunny skies for the rest of Wednesday.
High temperatures will be in the mid 40s through Thursday, Christmas Day.
Are we getting a White Christmas? It’s looking unlikely. A few flurries are possible, but a snowy blanket on the ground Christmas morning isn’t expected. Plan on mostly cloudy skies with a chance for some showers.
