Warmer weekend ahead, chance of showers on Saturday

KTVZ-TV

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - A strong ridge of high pressure is building over the Pacific Northwest, bringing warmer than normal temperatures through next week.

At the same time, a low pressure system is sliding south just off the coast. That could open the door for a few spotty showers along the Cascades overnight into Saturday.

Temperatures climb into the mid to upper 70s today, with increasing clouds this afternoon giving us partly sunny skies. Pockets of poor air quality are possible due to prescribed burn smoke.

Temperatures will drop into the 40s to low 50s overnight under mostly cloudy skies.

There’s a low chance for showers across the High Desert tomorrow, with a few spotty rain showers and possibly a stray storm. Temperatures will be a few degrees cooler Saturday, but still staying unseasonably warm for early May.

Looking ahead, 80s return Monday and stick around through at least the middle of next week. We’re getting a taste of summer as we kick off the first week of May.
