Hot and breezy pattern remains, cooler and rainy into the weekend

KTVZ

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – Filtered sunshine resulting from high clouds late Tuesday, but the highs still expected to reach the upper 80s and some low 90s as above normal pattern continues.

Wednesday will be another warm day as the mercury in the thermometer reaches the middle to upper 80s. Normal high in Bend this time of year is around 76, so once again the above normal scenario remains. In the heat of the day there is a slight chance for Central Oregon to see some isolated thunderstorms develop. The storms will be few and far between but may generate some lightning so if you are planning any outdoor activities, keep that in mind and be alert for thunder.

Thursday begins the wet pattern, but not until later in the evening. There will be some clouds rolling in as the day moves along and by the end of the day we have a slight chance for some showers. The showers arrive from the west and will become more numerous after sunset. Shower will continue into the morning of Friday and are expected to continue off and on through the day.

Friday will start out on the wet side as the showers will be fairly widespread. The rain will be more of a beneficial rain for our lawns and fields as it should be light and steady.  The soil in Central Oregon is parched so this slow and soaking rain will be a welcomed sight. As a result of the clouds and light rain, the high temperatures will be significantly cooler than the start of the week, topping out in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Over the weekend the rain will be scattered and not a complete washout by any means. Highs will be in the middle to low 60s both days and a chance for showers will exist each day. The showers on Sunday may be confined to the mountains, but some rain may drizzle down into the high desert.

Monday and Tuesday will be dry and mild with highs in the low to middle 70s.

Please, Stay safe.
