Terrebonne’s School of Ranch holds workshop at downtown Bend Library, teaching how to dehydrate ‘camp chow’
(Update: Adding video, comments from the kitchen alchemist)
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A non-profit taught people how to make healthy instant camp chow, at the downtown Bend Library. The Terrebonne-based School of Ranch taught people the art of dehydration.
The instructional workshop showed how to dehydrate your food, so you can take your favorite healthy meal on a trail. It was a chance to talk about skill-sharing and sustainable living.
"The kitchen alchemist part of it is I develop the recipes," Beth Covert, kitchen alchemist said. "I will take a recipe and basically deconstruct it into powders."
School of Ranch's mission, is to teach practical and traditional skills, strengthen communities, and support the local economy.
