Flanagan named new La Pine Elementary principal

Bend-La Pine Schools Superintendent Ron Wilkinson announced Tuesday that Patrick Flanagan has been selected to become La Pine Elementary School’s next principal. Flanagan is currently assistant principal at La Pine Elementary.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead such a fantastic school community,” said Flanagan. “There are great things happening at La Pine Elementary and I’m excited to be a part of its future.”

Flanagan began as assistant principal in La Pine in the fall of 2014. Prior to that he served as a classroom teacher at Juniper Elementary School, where he worked since 2007. He began his teaching career in San Diego and has 15 years of classroom experience. He also previously served on the district’s Report Card Task Force and served as a technology facilitator at Juniper.

Flanagan added that the staff and students in La Pine at have been tremendously kind and supportive. “We have a lot of good things going and I look forward to continuing with successful practices.”

Flanagan will begin his new position July 1. He takes over the role from longtime Principal Tammy Doty, who will serve as the principal for the new elementary school in southeast Bend.
