Snow Report: Final Laps for the Season

Winter is hanging on in the Cascades, but the season is winding down quickly. Here is your update for local resorts and mountain travel:

Resort Status: Who’s Still Spinning?

Spring Snow at West Village: A wintry scene at the Pine Marten lift as fresh snow continues to fall at Mt. Bachelor. While clouds have settled over the lodge deck, the moisture is adding a final layer of white to the mountain for the last week of the season. (Photo: Mt. Bachelor)
  • Mt. Bachelor: Open daily through next Sunday, April 19. They are currently in "moody" spring mode with light snow at the summit and rain at the base. It’s the final week to catch some turns before the season officially wraps up with the RendezVan festival.
  • Timberline Lodge: Still going strong! They are currently scheduled to remain open through late May, making them the best bet for those heading north for late-season turns.
  • Mt. Hood Meadows: Officially closing for the season today, Sunday, April 12, due to the low snowpack.

Mountain Pass Travel

  • Cascade Passes: Expect low visibility and damp roads through Monday morning.
  • Wednesday System: We are watching a stronger system for mid-week. Expect a rain-to-snow transition that could impact travel over the Santiam and Willamette passes.
