‘It allows these folks to be seen’: Bend company’s ‘Pink Lights for Hope’ honors breast cancer survivors across US

(Update: Adding video, comments from CEO)

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) --  People around the country are marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One Bend company wants to shine a special light on survivors. Christmas Lights Factory is putting on its second year of the "Pink Lights for Hope" campaign.

It's an initiative bringing light and hope to 50 breast cancer survivors, and those battling the disease, across the U.S. So far, 20 have been installed. Throughout Oregon, 10 people have received their lights displays.

If you nominate a survivor, they could get pink and white lights installed for free.

"Really, it allows these folks to be seen," Brennan Morrow, the company's self-described "CEO and janitor," said Tuesday. "Sometimes, they seem to be forgotten by society as they battle a great battle of their life. We're just helping them illuminate the world a little bit."

At Christmas Lights Factory, they manufacture their own Christmas lights, and make sure to produce plenty of the pink and white lights for this project.

You can nominate your loved ones this month at PinkLightsforHope.com.
