Prineville Mom Creates Child Custody Software
A Prineville mom has launched an online child custody management program that she says is aimed at providing an affordable and uncomplicated answer to the problems parents face with shared custody and visitation.
After nearly five years of marriage, 28-year-old Lynn White and her husband decided to split, and officially divorced in 2007.
Dividing up the possessions was the easy part, but when it came to their two young children, Kylie and Jaden, things got complicated.
That’s when Divaroo.com was born.
“I needed something that could put everything straightforward, it wasn’t confusing,” she said Thursday. “And he knew what was going on, I knew what was going on — so the kids knew what was going on. That’s how i came up with this.”
Divaroo is an online child custody management program designed to help divorced parents manage their kids’ lives together, while they’re apart.
“I created a tool that has multi uses to help ease the stress,” she said.
“One parent can go in (to the website) and see that the other one loaded one of the kids’ report cards. They can click on the documents page and see how their kids are doing in school,” she said.
White couldn’t have created it at a better time.
According to the Oregon Center for Health, nearly 900 couples in Deschutes county filed for divorce last year, Crook county had 76 and Jefferson county 70, numbers that have grown significantly over the past five years.
“I’m not the only mom who has gone through a divorce and has children,” she said. “And if I have a need for it, I know other moms do, too. And I know other moms are just as frustrated and confused about what was going on as I was.
Now, with the click of a mouse, White says you can keep track of visitation dates, appointments, emergency contacts and upload custody agreements
But it’s the Website’s name that really says it all.
“My daughter came home one day and said, ‘Mom, I feel like a kangaroo. I jump from dad’s house, I jump from your house and back again. And that’s how the name Divaroo was born.”
“When you’re on the phone with your ex, and your shouting about whatever has happened — your kids feel that. And if this can help make your kids’ life that much easier. it’s priceless.”
You can sign up free for a month of Divaroo.com. After that, it’s $6.99 a month, or $70 for a yearly membership.

Here’s the rest of her news release:
Divaroo, ?the easiest child custody management program,? includes a calendar, contact list, documents storage area, private diary, house rules section, shared journal and photo galleries for keeping track of child custody details and sharing information between ex-partners, according to a news release from the company.
Child custody arrangements are fraught with miscommunications, frustrations, hostility and repeated court dates for the parents, confusion and upset for the children.
?As a parent that has gone through a divorce and custody proceedings I totally understand the importance to keep everything straight. I couldn?t find an affordable, uncomplicated program to manage the daily details of shared custody and minimize the stress of dealing with an ex-partner,? says Divaroo owner Lynn White.
?I developed Divaroo for myself, but since it has worked for me, I am now sharing (the program),” she said.
The name Divaroo is a combination of divorce and kangaroo. White explained, ?My daughter said she felt like a kangaroo when she got back from her dad’s. I asked her, ?What do you mean?? and she replied, ?I feel like I hop from dad’s house to your house.??
White is a CNA who has spent years caring for the elderly. Growing up, she experienced life in a broken family as a child, and she has been dealing with child custody management in recent years with her ex-spouse.
She said her experience gives her a deep understanding of the issues surrounding child custody management and how important it is for parents, and especially for the children, that everything runs smoothly, has structure and is consistent.
Divaroo includes a calendar for keeping track of visitation dates, appointments, events and activities, but the program is much more than just a visitation calendar. Emergency contacts and other important phone numbers are always available through the Divaroo contact list.
Upload custody agreements, children?s records and other important papers to Divaroo safely and securely. Dated and time stamped entries in Divaroo?s private diary can be reserved for any future legal or personal need.
Divaroo?s most noteworthy features are three components that encourage divorced parents to communicate about their children in a healthy and productive way: House Rules, a Shared Journal and a Picture Gallery.
Parents can provide needed structure and consistency through the house rules component, working out what is allowed or not allowed at each house during child visitations.
The shared journal is a place for parents to post about things that have happened or are going to happen in their children?s lives so both parents are aware and informed.
Divorced parents often miss special moments that happen when children are with the other parent. Divaroo provides a gallery for uploading and sharing photos.
