Newport Avenue Market hosted the Finale Rude Rudy’s Golf Tournament on July 25 in support of the Hunger Prevention Coalition of Central Oregon. The event raised $53,200 (exceeding its fundraising goal of $50,000), which was given to the organization during the event.

The event hosted over 120 golfers from the community and leaders from the grocery and retail industry.

A benefit dinner was held following the tournament and featured the awards ceremony, BBQ, and the presentation of the honorary donation of proceeds from the event to the Hunger Prevention Coalition of Central Oregon.

Since 2007, when the golf tournament became a fundraiser, over $207,000 has been raised for the Hunger Prevention Coalition.

“We’d like to thank everyone that sponsored and participated in this year’s golf tournament, especially Rudy Dory, who makes it all possible. We sincerely appreciate the dedication he has made in support of hunger prevention in Central Oregon,” said Kasey Every, Hunger Prevention Coalition of Central Oregon board member.
