The city of Bend and the community will honor Olympic decathlon champion and Mountain View High School graduate Ashton Eaton with a “Parade of Olympians” on Sunday, Sept. 23, the city announced Wednesday.

The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. and is expected to include other Central Oregon Olympians, past and present.

“Don’t miss the fun – bring your Olympic spirit and wear red, white and blue!” the announcement said.

The parade route will begin at Bond Street and Franklin Avenue, turn at Oregon Street, and continue down Wall Street to the Tower Theatre in downtown Bend.

The “Parade of Olympians” will conclude with a program in front of the Tower Theatre.

Kids 10 and under are invited for a short fun run with Ashton from the Tower Theatre down Wall Street (no registration is required). Ashton will return to the Tower Theatre to sign autographs.
