Central Oregon Weather Outlook

KTVZ-TV

If you're heading out this afternoon, keep a jacket handy. While the sun is out, we’ve got some cool air and a biting breeze sticking around for the rest of Thursday.

Here is the quick breakdown for Central Oregon and the Cascades through Friday.

Today & Tonight

  • Conditions: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy.
  • Temperatures: Highs are reaching the upper 40s to low 50s for most of the high desert, while the mountain areas and higher elevations stay cooler in the 30s and 40s.
  • Wind: Expect a steady northwest wind today with some gusts reaching 25–30 mph. It will stay breezy through the evening before calming down late tonight.
  • Overnight: We are looking at a cold night ahead. Lows will drop into the 20s across the region, with the usual cold spots likely hitting the mid-teens.

Looking Ahead to Friday

  • The Warm-up: Tomorrow will be a much calmer day. Expect plenty of sunshine and lighter winds.
  • Temperatures: Highs will rebound into the mid-to-upper 50s, kicking off a warming trend that will continue through the weekend.

Quick Tip: It’s a great afternoon for a walk if you have a windbreaker, but make sure to protect any sensitive outdoor plants tonight—it's going to be a cold one!
