Bend youngsters have lots of fun at ‘Day of Play’
It didn’t quite look like the last day of summer in Bend on Saturday, but kids in Central Oregon sure played like it was.
Hundreds came out for Bend Parks and Rec’s fourth annual “Day of Play” at Bend’s Riverbend Park.
The free, fourth annual event celebrated kids of all ages with obstacle courses, slingshots canoeing, archery and more.
Bend Parks and Rec officials said it was a great way to get kids outside and showcase all the activities they offer for kids and families.
“I think it’s really fun here,” said one 11-year-old girl. “I liked the fruit sling, because you actually got to shoot fruit.”
Park officials said they added kite flying this year and that with all the wind, it was a popular choice for kids.
