KTVZ

On March 15th, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office in partnership with Secure Shred and NeighborImpact hosted the first shredding event of 2014 at the Sheriff’s Office in Bend.

A total of 328 vehicles came through the shred event dropping off documents for shredding, food and money for needy families, and prescription drugs for destruction.

All total, 6.19 tons (about 12,380 pounds) of paper documents were shredded by Secure Shred.

800 pounds of food was collected, and $100 in cash was donated to NeighborImpact.

There were 68 prescription drug drop-offs.

Thanks to Secure Shred, NeighborImpact, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office volunteers and our citizens for making this a successful event.
