Oregon Adaptive Sports adds board member
Oregon Adaptive Sports (OAS) announces that Peter Gilmore has joined its board of directors.
Gilmore is retired from the athletic shoe industry, having worked for both adidas and Nike in the Portland area, before moving to Bend in 2004. Gilmore also operated his own retail shoe store for six years.
Prior to moving to Portland, Gilmore worked as a journalist, teacher, coach and college admissions counselor. He has a bachelor’s degree from Emerson College and masters degree from Harvard University.
Neal Hueske, the president of the OAS board of directors, said, “We are thrilled to have Peter join the OAS family. His business experience–coupled with his passion for youth and athletics–provide an ideal background to help guide OAS along its mission of providing outdoor recreational opportunities to ALL individuals, regardless of ability.”
Gilmore lives in Bend with his wife Hilary. They have two grown children.
ABOUT OAS: Oregon Adaptive Sports has been breaking barriers in Central Oregon since 1996, providing individuals with disabilities and their families’ opportunities for outdoor recreation. Our goal is to nurture the human spirit and foster self-confidence and independence. We currently offer instructional programs in alpine and Nordic skiing and snowboarding, at both Hoodoo and Mt. Bachelor ski resorts. We have recently begun expansion into year round programs, offering golf, cycling and kayaking.
