Fire training exercise Saturday in La Pine
La Pine Fire District firefighters will be practicing multi-fire company training evolutions in La Pine this Saturday from approximately 10 am to 4 pm.
The exercises are part of the fire district’s on going comprehensive training program which in part twice a year the district holds a major exercise.
In the Fall exercise this Saturday , the La Pine firefighters will be working on two scenarios.
In the first, firefighters will be practicing a large-scale commercial fire response at the Oregon Department of Transportation La Pine Highway Maintenance Center.
The second, to be held at the district’s fire training area in La Pine at the Huntington Road fire station, will be a rural water supply delivery exercise utilizing the district’s large water tenders.
Although there will be no actual flames – there will be smoke (training) and water flowing along with fire ground activity.
No traffic delays or blockages will occur. However, there will be extra emergency vehicle traffic in the area during the exercises.
