Bend seeks affordable housing, accessibility panel members

The city of Bend has two vacant positions on its Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. Representatives are needed from local lending institutions and affordable housing providers.

The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is a standing committee of the City Council which advises council and staff on the allocation of Federal, State and Local funding for the promotion of affordable housing. Term for the members is a four-year commitment.

The City is also seeking applications for volunteers for the City of Bend Accessibility Advisory Committee (COBAAC). The committee’s purpose is to assist and advise the City in making its programs, services, activities and facilities accessible to Bend’s citizens. In addition, members will provide advice on how to enhance accessible community resources and emergency preparedness issues for the City.

COBAAC members shall have a demonstrated interest, experience and commitment to issues pertaining to accessibility. Attendance for a monthly meeting on the 4 th Thursday is a minimum time requirement. Bend residents are preferred. Members are appointed to one to three year terms by the City Manager.
