Bend man jailed on rape, burglary charges
A 23-year-old Bend man was arrested on rape and burglary charges Saturday, accused of entering a former neighbor’s apartment in the early-morning hours and assaulting the 19-year-old woman, police said.
Officers responded about 4:10 a.m. Saturday to the reported sexual assault at an apartment on Northeast Neil Way, said Lt. Nick Parker.
The woman reported that a former neighbor, identified as Michael Tarin Allister Harrison, entered her apartment while she was sleeping and sexually assaulting her, Parker said. The apartment was not locked, he added.
Harrison was contacted at his home and interviewed by investigators. Parker said he was ultimately arrested and lodged in the Deschutes County Jail on first-degree charges of rape and burglary. He’s being held on $125,000 bail, pending an initial court appearance Tuesday afternoon.
