Redmond Proficiency Academy has limited openings
The Redmond Proficiency Academy announced it will accept a limited number of applications for students in grades sixth through twelve for the 2015-16 school year. Interested students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with a waiting list formed after spots are filled.
RPA is a tuition free public charter school serving sixth through twelfth grade students throughout Central Oregon. The academy focuses on providing students a proficiency-based education in a personalized learning environment. At RPA, students are encouraged to excel at their own pace and are recognized by ability rather than grade level. Students create a personalized learning plan to pursue their own areas of interest in preparation for their next educational steps.
RPA offers multiple pathways for success, including a College Prep program featuring a university model scheduling system in which students take advanced courses and learn effective college habits like studying and time management. RPA encourages students to participate in real world learning experiences and to earn credit by demonstrating their knowledge and skills. RPA prides itself on creating an inclusive school culture where teachers know their students and where students cultivate friendships in an atmosphere of academic success.
Students and parents interested in learning more about RPA are welcome to call and schedule a personal tour. Home school students and students living outside of the Redmond School District boundary are eligible to apply and are encouraged to do so. Those interested in applying can find more information – including application information – online at www.rpacademy.org.
