Crook County shooting victim ID’d, in critical condition

The victim of a Sunday night shooting at a home north of Prineville was identified Tuesday as a 26-year-old resident, who was listed in critical condition at St. Charles Bend.

Crook County Sheriff Jim Hensley identified Frankie Holliday as the man who was shot in the incident reported just after 8 p.m. Sunday at his home at 4243 NW Elliot Lane.

Hensley said authorities learned a family member was taking Holliday to Pioneer Memorial Hospital by private vehicle, so sheriff’s deputies and Oregon State Police responded to both the home and the hospital.

Holliday, who was at the hospital when deputies arrived, later was flown by air ambulance to St. Charles Bend, where Hensley said he was in critical condition Tuesday.

The Central Oregon Major Crimes Team was activated to assist with the investigation, which is continuing.

“There have been no arrests, and there is no threat to the community,” Hensley said, releasing no other details of what took place.

The Tri-County Major Crime team includes members of the Crook and Deschutes County sheriff’s offices, the Crook County District Attorney’s Office, Oregon State Police, and Bend, Redmond and Warm Springs police departments.
