St. Charles plans southern Bend clinic
St. Charles Family Care and Immediate Care announced Monday they will be the anchor tenants of a new health care building located on the northwest corner of Third Street and Badger Road, near Walmart on Bend’s south end.
The health system said it has entered into a letter of intent with developers Taylor Northwest and the Thomas family for the construction and long-term lease of the 18,500-square-foot building.
Once open, the clinic will house nine family physicians, as well as an on-site laboratory, X-ray and rehabilitation services.
The clinic will be open for extended hours every day of the week, officials said, and walk-in patients will be welcome.
“The south end of Bend is experiencing tremendous growth,” said John Weinsheim, chief operating officer of St. Charles Medical Group. “This new clinic fills an unmet need for health care services in our community and helps us meet our longer-term goal of improving access to primary care throughout Central Oregon.”
Construction of the building is expected to begin this winter and will be complete by November 2016, the organization said.
