Building Solutions hosts NeighborImpact food drive BBQ

KTVZ

Building Solutions, a construction materials company based in Bend, hosted its annual NeighborImpact food drive and company BBQ June 19. The event organizers estimate 600 pounds of food was collected for NeighborImpact, a Central-Oregon not-for-profit organization.

“It’s common for food donations to drop off during summer months,” said Scott Cooper, executive director of NeighborImpact. “We are providing meals to 22,000 people every month, and Building Solutions is one of the many amazing local companies who support NeighborImpact by hosting a donation drive.”

Building Solutions, Pahlisch Homes, Allweather Wood and other industry partners organized the June 19 donation drive. A can of food was the price of admission and about 600 people attended the event.

“NeighborImpact is an excellent local charity and our employees and partners step-up every year to host a very successful donation drive and fun day for families,” said Tim Fife, general manager of Building Solutions. “We invite local contractors, their employees and families, and all of our staff and their families. It’s a great way to celebrate community while enjoying a beautiful summer day in Bend.”

NeighborImpact provides a diversity of services that not only meet basic human needs for food and shelter, but also enrich people’s lives by providing access to increased education, skills, and hope for the future. Organized food drives are one way that local businesses can get involved. Other donation ideas and more information about the need for summer donations can be found on the NeighborImpact website.

Construction materials from Building Solutions and beautiful homes built by partners like Pahlisch Homes can be seen at the 2015 Bend Tour of Homes. The annual event is July 17-19 and July 24-26 and showcases the professional application of fine building materials by talented craftsman in Bend and Central Oregon.
