Fire heavily damages home SE of Prineville

KTVZ

A two-story home was heavily damaged by fire Friday night in the Juniper Canyon area southeast of Prineville, Crook County Fire and Rescue officials said.

Fire Chief Matt Smith said crews were dispatched shortly after 9 p.m. to the house fire, including three engines, two water tenders and an ambulance.

Arriving firefighters found flames burning through the roof of the home, Smith said, and the fire caused extensive damage.

There were no injuries. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Smith said the homeowners were not home when the fire broke out, and neighbors called 911 to bring firefighters to the scene. The owners returned to find their house on fire.

The American Red Cross said it was called in to help the “multi-family fire” in the 4000 block of Tillamook Circle, which affected six adults, two children and one cat. The Red Cross provided lodging and recovery information.

Smith asked anyone with photos of the fire to e-mail them to him at msmith@ccf-r.com to “assist with the investigation.”
