Free tax-return help available for C.O. seniors
AARP/TaxAide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. AARP has been partnered with the Internal Revenue Service since 1968, as part of their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance & Tax Counseling for the Elderly program.
There is no requirement for AARP membership or any restrictions in age or income level to take advantage of the service.
All AARP volunteer tax preparers are tested and certified annually by the IRS. Federal and Oregon returns prepared by TaxAide are E-Filed usually within two hours of completion.

AARP/TaxAide service is located at the Neighbor Impact center, 2303 SW First Street, Redmond [near Central Oregon Community College in the airport industrial complex]. Tax return preparation begin on Monday, February 1 and continue Monday thru Friday until April 18, 2016. Appointments are required and may be made now [541 526-3834]. They begin at 9:00 A.M. daily until 3:00 P.M. as Neighbor Impact closes at 4:30 P.M.
