Oregon House GOP Leader McLane files for re-election
House Republican Leader Mike McLane (R-Powell Butte announced Tuesday that he has filed for re-election and will seek a fourth term representing House District 55 in the Oregon Legislature.
“Serving both as the House District 55 representative and as House Republican Leader continues to be an incredible honor,” said McLane. “Throughout my legislative career, I’ve remained focused on bringing new jobs and economic growth to Oregon, reforming our education system, and ensuring proper oversight of taxpayer dollars.
“I’ve also advocated for a more balanced and sensible approach to how the state makes decisions regarding natural resource, water and land use policies. I hope to return to Salem in 2017 and continue serving on behalf of my constituents in House District 55 and the people of our great state.”
During the 2015 Legislative Session, Rep. McLane played a key role in drafting and securing passage of SB 611, legislation that established Oregon as a leader in digital technology and communications infrastructure and opened the door to millions of dollars in local investments by technology giants like Apple, Facebook, Amazon and Google.
Since SB 611 was signed into law, House District 55 alone has received commitments for more than $200 million in new investments, with Facebook planning to break ground on the company’sthird Prineville data centerearly this year andApple likely to expandits Crook County presence as well.

Representative McLane has served as a member of the Oregon House since 2011 and as House Republican Leader since 2012. In addition to his legislative duties, he serves as an officer in the Oregon Air National Guard and works as a private attorney.
House District 55 includes portions of Deschutes, Crook, Jackson, Klamath and Lake counties. Rep. McLane and his wife, Holly, live in Powell Butte.
