Deschutes County seeks audit committee members

KTVZ

Deschutes County has reopened its search for Audit Committee members. Citizens with financial or local government experience are encouraged to apply.

The Audit Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of County Commissioners that:

Provides oversight and coordination to auditing (external and internal) for the County. Reviews and comments on the work plan for internal performance audits to be performed. Reviews provided internal and external audit reports on County operations. Provides opportunities for members to share experiences with County on topics discussed in reports. Discusses whether further recommendations are needed to the Board.

Committee members are asked to serve a two-year term and are not paid for their time. The Committee meets four times a year, usually on the second Thursday of March, June, September and November from noon to 3 p.m. If necessary, additional meetings may be scheduled. Members are responsible for reviewing documents on their own time to prepare for sessions.

Additional audit committee information is available on the County’s website. To apply, visit http://www.deschutes.org/jobs and click on Volunteer Openings.
