Southeast Bend intersection to close for roundabout

KTVZ

The Murphy-Parrell Road intersection in southeast Bend will be closed to all traffic beginning Tuesday, for construction of the city’s newest roundabout, officials said Friday.

All traffic will be detoured during the closure and travelers are advised to use alternate routes.

The city said it is building the new roundabout “to improve transportation safety and mobility.”

In addition, new stormwater infrastructure will be constructed to alleviate current flooding problem at the intersection. The project has also been coordinated to include completion of the southernmost portion of the Southeast Interceptor sewer line project.

The intersection at Murphy Road and Parrell Road will be closed until fall.

Detour maps and project information are available at www.bendoregon.gov/murphyparrell.
