Amity Creek, High Lakes principal finalists named
Bend-La Pine Schools has announced the finalists for the principal positions at Amity Creek Magnet at Thompson School and High Lakes Elementary School. Community members are invited to meet the finalists and offer feedback at forums set 5 to 6 p.m. Feb. 29 at Amity Creek and 5 to 6 p.m. March 1 at High Lakes.
The four finalists for the position at Amity Creek are:
Maria Madden is currently the assistant principal at Juniper Elementary School in Bend, a position she has served in since 2013. Madden has more than 25 years of experience in education including time as an instructional leader and an elementary classroom teacher.
Carol Northrop is currently a teacher and instructional coach at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, a position she has served in since 2015. She has more than 25 years of experience in education including time as principal at three schools and as a special education teacher.
Andrew Slavin is currently the director of Costa Verde International School in Sayulita, Mexico, a position he has served in for two years. Slavin has more than 15 years of experience in education including time as a principal in Bali and as a classroom teacher.
Brian Uballez is currently the assistant principal at Sky View Middle School in Bend, a position he has served in since 2007. Uballez has more than 15 years of experience in education including serving as assistant principal at High Desert Middle School and time as a classroom teacher.
The four finalists for the position at High Lakes are:
Linda Burley is currently the assistant principal at High Lakes, a position she has served in for three years. Burley has more than 20 years of experience in education including time as assistant principal for Bear Creek Elementary School and as an elementary classroom teacher.
Lindsay Henry is currently the principal at Fire Lake Elementary School in Anchorage, Alaska, a position she has served in since 2003. Henry has more than 25 years of experience in education including time as an elementary and high school administrator and as an elementary classroom teacher.
Tracy Vandeventer is currently the assistant principal at Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah, a position she has served in for one year. Vandeventer has more than 25 years of experience in the field of education including time as an elementary principal and director in Utah and as a classroom teacher.
Joan Warburg is currently the principal at Hendrick Ranch Elementary School in Moreno Valley, California, a position she has served in for three years. She has more than 25 years of experience in education including time as and administrator and bilingual teacher.
