ODOT adds fencing under Corvallis bridge to deter homeless
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Oregon officials are building what they hope is a permanent solution to homeless camping under a Corvallis bridge.
The Corvallis Gazette-Times reports (http://bit.ly/2q8mPpI ) the Oregon Department of Transportation recently completed the installation of metal fencing under a bridge over the Marys River.
ODOT Public Information Officer Angela Beers Seydel says the fencing will stop homeless campsites from popping up and will fend off tampering with the strength and structure of the bridge.
Beers Seydel says the fencing is not likely to prevent all camping on ODOT property and that it is very likely additional cleanups will be needed.
