DCSO finds owners of 2 alpacas found in NW Redmond

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office said Monday it has found the owner of two alpacas found in northwest Redmond early Friday evening.

“The owners of the found Alpacas has been identified and is working to return them home,” Sgt. William Bailey said in an update Monday morning, adding, “Thank you to the community for your assistance in this matter.”

Around 6 p.m. Friday, the agency was advised by a resident in the 9000 block of Northwest Oak Avenue of two loose alpacas in the area, said Sgt. Kevin Dizney.

The neighbor was able to catch the animals and was willing to temporarily hold them while efforts are made to locate an owner, Dizney said.
