Two die in separate Portland crashes

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say two people died in separate vehicle crashes in Portland.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports (https://goo.gl/6vkJQi ) one person was killed Monday night when a car crashed into a tree and started on fire in the northeastern part of the city.

Portland police say someone passing by pulled a passenger from the wreck, but the passenger died at the scene.

The driver was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Earlier Monday night, one person died after he hit a parked car in Southeast Portland.

Portland police say the driver was ejected from his car and died at the scene. A passenger was not injured.
