Natural gas line work affecting downtown Bend area

Watch for utility work near downtown Bend this week, as Cascade Natural Gas crews continue the Bend Westside Replacement Project.

One crew will be working in the alley between Northwest Florida and Georgia avenues, installing a 2-inch gas main. NW Georgia and the alley between Florida and Georgia will remain closed to through traffic between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

At the same time, a paving crew will be on NW Shasta Place, starting at the intersection with NW Delaware Avenue, and will work south towards NW Riverside Boulevard.

Then, on Thursday, the paving crew will start at the intersection of Shasta Place and Riverside, paving northwest on Riverside.

Affected streets will remain closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but will be open each evening.

Residents are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid congestion.
