Beaverton woman arrested on arson charge after condo fire

KTVZ

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say a woman set fire to her condominium outside Portland, causing another occupant to jump out of a second-floor window to escape the flames.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports that deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 35-year-old woman, Brooke Shaver, who they say intentionally started a fire at the Tanasbrook Condominiums in Beaverton on Friday.

The male occupant was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after jumping to evade the blaze.

Deputies say Shaver was not injured, and she fled the scene. She was later arrested a short distance away.

Shaver was charged with arson and was booked into jail. Her bail was set at $250,000.
