Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM

KTVZ

Happy Thursday evening, everyone!

NEWSCHANNEL 21 WILL NOT AIR A 5 O’CLOCK OR 7 O’CLOCK NEWSCAST TONIGHT DUE TO NFL ON NBC. NEWSCHANNEL 21 AT 6 WILL AIR ON FOX.

Freezing fog is likely again tonight for many areas as our ridge of high pressure overhead breaks down. Overnight lows will be in the teens and 20s under the fog. Areas above the fog with clear skies will fall into the single digits and teens.

Friday a cold front will move through and snow levels will plummet from 7,700′ in the morning to 3,100′ in the evening. Showers are expected by the afternoon, so we could see some freezing rain or a rain/snow mix. Keep in mind roads will be slippery and could be icy as we have a very cold surface. Mt. Bachelor is looking to pick up 1-2″ of snow on Friday at best.

Winds will kick up in the afternoon out of the northwest around 10 to 15 miles per hour. The change in the winds should help our air quality levels. The Air Stagnation Advisory is set to expire at 10 a.m. Friday.

More clouds will be overhead this weekend than what we have been seeing recently. Temperatures will be chilly on Saturday in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Sunday will be a little warmer in the low to mid 40s.
