N.D. police: Culver man had 80 lbs. of marijuana

MANDAN, N.D. (AP) – Men from Colorado and Central Oregon face felony drug charges after allegedly being caught with large amounts of marijuana in North Dakota.

The Morton County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped 29-year-old Jacob Todd, of Loveland, Colorado, for speeding on Wednesday. A police dog indicated there were drugs in the vehicle, and authorities say they found bags of marijuana weighing 30 pounds and worth about $30,000 on the street.

In an unrelated case, a Morton County deputy on Thursday arrested 60-year-old Ricky Fischer of Culver, Oregon, after making a traffic stop for illegally tinted windows. Authorities say the deputy found 80 pounds of marijuana.

Todd and Fischer face a drug charge that carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison. They’ll enter pleas later. Court documents don’t list an attorney for either man.
