S. Oregon man accused of killing friend while live-streaming

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Southern Oregon man has been charged with manslaughter after police say he confessed to shooting his friend.

A medical examiner ruled in November that 23-year-old Josman Cereceres died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound while visiting John “Walker” Adams in Roseburg.

But the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says an attorney for the 23-year-old Adams came forward in December to say his client had accidentally shot Cereceres.

Detective Nate Goodman wrote in court documents that he interviewed Adams a few days later, and Adams demonstrated how the incident happened during a night of drinking and live-streaming.

Goodman wrote that he obtained a copy of the video, and it shows Adams putting the gun to the side of Cereceres’ head and pulling the trigger.

In addition to manslaughter, Adams has been charged with tampering with evidence. He made an initial court appearance Friday afternoon.
