Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM
Happy Friday evening, everyone!
Tonight we’ll stay dry with mild temperatures. If you’re headed out the winds could be blustery at times out of the north. We’ll see clouds roll in overnight tonight leaving us with mostly cloudy skies by the morning. Overnight lows will be mild in the low to mid 40s, which is about 10 degrees above average.
Central Oregon begins on a dry note for the weekend, and overall we will stay dry! Instability and unsettled weather pushed into the region overnight, so the afternoon has a chance for thunderstorms. Most of the High Desert will see mostly cloudy to overcast skies. Temperatures will still be mild and warm at times in the mid to upper 70s, which is about 10 degrees above average.
The chance for thunderstorms for this afternoon would be across the Cascades mainly. If you’re headed out for a hike into the mountains just know the afternoon could see a few lightning strikes or rain showers. Highs across the Cascades will be in the mid to upper 50s.
Going into Sunday we’ll see clouds break up slightly, but will increase by the morning. Overnight lows for the next several days will stay in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Sunday has a better chance for a few afternoon thunderstorms and rain showers across the High Desert. Temperatures will still be mild in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
The beginning of the week brings sunshine back to Central Oregon with highs in the mid to upper 70s. We’ll climb into the mid 80s by Tuesday which could be our warmest day of the year so far. By Wednesday the next system moves inland and this will bring cooler temperatures back to the region.
Have a happy & safe weekend!
