Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM
Happy Monday evening, everyone!
Today was beautiful! Temperatures were in the mid to upper 70s, which is well above average. We’ve seen sunny skies with some high clouds throughout the day. Through sunset we’ll see mostly sunny skies. Winds will gust out of the northwest around 10 to 15 miles per hour. Overnight we can expect light winds and mostly clear skies. Lows will bottom out in the low to mid 40s.
Tomorrow will begin with mostly sunny skies. We’ll quickly warm into the upper 70s and lower 80s making it our warmest day of the week. Changes arrive by the afternoon as clouds push into Central Oregon. Winds will also pick up in the afternoon, and then we see the chance for thunderstorms increase. Our best bet for a few thunderstorms in the afternoon would be east of Bend and up to the north near Madras. Within these storms we can expect strong wind gusts, some heavy downpours, and likely some hail.
The chance for storms lingers through the late night hours. We could have a few nocturnal thunderstorms overnight into Wednesday. A cold front will also pass through the region in the late night hours, which will drop our temperatures.
Daytime highs on Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 60s, which is cooler, but above average. The second half of the week will be in the mid to upper 60s. We’ll see some clouds overhead from Wednesday through Friday, but we will remain dry. Overnight lows will be cooler in the low to mid 30s, which is around average. Keep an eye on your outdoor plants!
Heading into the weekend we’ll see conditions return to spring and summer-like. Highs will be in the 70s and 80s. We’ll see mostly sunny skies.
