Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM
Happy Monday evening, everyone!
A FIRE WEATHER OR RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 P.M. TONIGHT FOR MOST AREAS OF THE HIGH DESERT. STRONG WINDS AND DRY CONDITIONS ARE PRESENT THROUGHOUT THE REGION.
Smoke is currently pushing to the south from the Warm Springs area. Gusty winds topping 35 even 40 miles per hour will stay with us through sunset tonight. Areas in Redmond will likely see smoke through the overnight and tomorrow morning.
By sunset we’ll see temperatures in the mid to upper 50s with winds out of the northwest around 20 miles per hour. Mostly clear skies are on tap for this evening. Temperatures will be chilly in the mid to upper 30s for overnight lows, so you might want to cover up sensitive plants.
Tomorrow sees mostly sunny skies through the morning and afternoon. Highs will be a little warmer in the mid to upper 70s. Winds won’t be nearly as strong as we’re seeing tonight. Clouds will begin to push in by the late afternoon and early evening.
The Fourth of July starts with some clouds overhead, but will gradually break up by the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s, so it will feel nice and warm. Winds will be gusty at times around 30 miles per hour. Conditions are very dry and winds will be breezy, so PLEASE be safe with fireworks.
Winds will stay with us through the end of the week as temperatures keep climbing. Highs will peak in the upper 80s and lower 90s by Thursday.
A weak flow moves in for Friday, so we’ll see some clouds overhead and the slightest chance for a few sprinkles.
