Local Alert Weather, Mon. AM, 7.30.18
Good Monday Morning, Everyone…
After enduring a hot weekend we all need to prepare for the hottest day we will see this week! As temps climb into the triple digits heat advisories and warnings will be in place for much of the eastern portions of the state through Tuesday. Highs today will reach 100-105 with northerly breezes at 5-10 mph. With hazy conditions through the evening and into tonight, look for lows in the mid 50’s to low 60’s.
Many will be in or close to triple digits again Tuesday. With light amounts of moisture pressing in over these hot temperatures a few areas will see a chance of pop-up thunderstorms this afternoon. More areas around the region will see that chance again tomorrow. Those under a smoky haze will stay that way until wildfires have been extinguished. Heat advisories and warnings will stay in place until 11:00 pm Tuesday.
Hot temps through the middle of the week will start to ease up Thursday when both daytime highs and overnight lows return to something more normal for this time of year. From there, sunshine and average temps are expected to continue through the coming weekend.
