Local Alert Weather, Thu. AM, 1.3.19
Good Thursday Morning, Everyone…
The continued advance of a system coming in from the west has already brought rain to the valley and mixed showers to the Cascades. This will mean mostly cloudy skies for us today with highs ranging from the upper 30’s to mid 40’s. Southerly winds will be at a gusty 5-10 mph. With lows dipping to the upper 20’s to mid 30’s we have a chance of seeing mixed showers by morning and southerly breezes at 10-15 mph.
This broad and potent system will continue to advance on the NW and bring mixed showers, rain by day turning to snow at night, to the High Desert. This pattern will continue through the weekend with a chance of rain showers staying with us through the middle of next week.
A strong southerly flow within this system will keep our temperatures pretty mild; daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 40’s. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 30’s.
Mountain snow will be heaviest beginning tonight. Mt. Bachelor can expect to receive a few inches of fresh snow during that time with snow showers continuing through the middle of next week.
