Bend post office asks customers to help after snowstorm
The Bend post office on is asking customers to help keep letter carriers safe by clearing access to mailboxes as soon possible following heavy snowfall.
The U.S. Postal Service “wants its carriers to return home healthy each night,” the news release stated. “The cooperation and assistance of customers will go a long way toward keeping letter carriers safe and ensuring mail delivery.”
Postal customers who receive door mail delivery should ensure their sidewalks, steps and porches are free of ice and snows.
Customers receiving street-side mailbox or centralized cluster neighborhood mailboxes can assist their carrier by having a safe and clear path to their mailbox.
