Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM

KTVZ

Happy Friday evening, everyone!

Expect a chance for isolated, light snow showers between now and midnight. We’ll see mostly cloudy skies become partly cloudy overnight. Lows will be cold and below average once again bottoming out in the teens.

Saturday begins with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. Clearer skies will be in the Cascades or west of the mountains as Central Oregon looks to see cloud cover from time to time over the weekend. We’ll see highs on the cold side in the 20s and 30s, which is well below average. Our average daytime high at the airport in Redmond is 50 degrees!

Look to see another cold, mostly cloudy day on Sunday, but we will remain dry. Through this time snow will become heavy as it melts and will freeze through the overnights. Icy chunks will remain on roadways and slight surfaces will exist on sidewalks and driveways. Take your time driving around this weekend (especially the roundabouts!) and slow down! Make sure you remember to keep your headlights turned ON during the day as well.

Heading into the beginning of next week we see cold air linger with dry conditions. The next chance for showres won’t be until Tuesday at this point.

Have a happy & safe weekend!

— Emily
