Three arrested in SW Bend bus drug bust
Three Bend residents were arrested on drug and other charges Tuesday in a raid on a former rafting company bus parked on a street in southwest Bend, police said.
Police served a search warrant on the bus around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Shevlin Hixon Drive and Columbia Street, Lt. Jason Maniscalco said.
Over the past month, he said, police had received information about drug activity associated with the bus.
During the raid, officers contacted and arrested Weston Robert Harrel, 31, Rebekah Ann Watson, 25, and Kaeton Michael Rose, 26, taking them to the Deschutes County Jail.
A search of the bus turned up more than 19 grams of heroin, suspected LSD and psilocybin mushrooms, as well as packaging material, scales and other items associated with drug sales, Maniscalco said.
Officers also found evidence that Harrel and Rose were selling heroin, he added.
All three were charged with heroin possession, while Harrel and Rose were charged with heroin delivery and frequenting a place where drugs are used, kept or sold.
Investigators said Harrel and Watson’s child was living with them on the bus, though not present at the time of the raid, Maniscalco said.
As a result, Harrel and Watson also were charged with first-degree child neglect and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Rose remained held Wednesday on $25,000 bail and Harrel on $50,000 bail Watson was released on her own recognizance shortly after she was booked into the jail Tuesday afternoon, a jail officer said.
