Local Alert Weather, Tue. AM, 6-18-19

KTVZ

Good Tuesday Morning, Everyone…

We sit at the leading edge of a ridge of high pressure and that will dictate another sunny, warm and breezy day for Central Oregon. Highs will reach the low to mid 80’s and NW winds will pick up to 10 -20 mph with gusts to 25 mph . Skies will stay clear tonight. Lows will be a little cooler, in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s . Breezes will become light and variable after midnight.

A low pressure center in NW Canada will works its way to the se over the next couple of days. While we are not expecting to see any storm activity as a result of this movement it will, however, set us up for some cooler temperatures. The northerly flow around the back side of that system will deliver us a cooling trend that will have our daytime highs in the mid to upper 60’s by Wednesday. While we stay mostly clear through this transition we will see overnight lows in the 30’s for us all Wednesday night. Upper elevations can expect to see lows down close to freezing. Conditions will moderate for the rest of the week and the weekend ahead. Skies will stay mostly clear. Highs will be in the mid 70’s and lows will be in the low to mid 40’s ; all pretty typical for this time of year.
