Right now embattled La Pine Parks & Rec District takes up formal grievance, looks at adding 2 more board members

LA PINE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- The 5 new board members appointed to the La Pine Parks & Rec District are discussing multiple issues tonight, including a formal grievance and potentially adding 2 more board members.

The meeting comes at a tough time for the beleaguered district

In November, the district canceled all youth sports, and then closed its offices to the public, saying staff were being harassed on and off duty.

Weeks later at an emergency meeting, the entirety of the board resigned, and fired all remaining staff.

The entire board was then replaced by Deschutes County Commissioners.

Tonight those new board members are taking on a number of tough topics including a formal grievance, and whether to add two more board members.
