Redmond Fire & Rescue rush to early-morning house fire, no injuries reported
REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) — A structure fire early Sunday morning in Redmond heavily damaged a single-family home.
At around 3:30 a.m., Redmond Fire & Rescue responded to a reported fire at 2033 SW 30th St. Dispatch received multiple reports of two or more homes on fire, prompting the request for additional units.
According to firefighters, the fire was caused by embers from a recreational fire igniting nearby combustibles.
Redmond Fire & Rescue is reminding the public to fully extinguish recreational fires by drowning them with water, stirring, and repeating the process until the area is cold to the touch.
The department also urges residents to test smoke alarms and have an escape plan in place.
