Jeep, motorcycle collide near NW Redmond intersection, seriously injuring rider; police investigating
REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Redmond police are investigating the collision of an SUV and motorcycle near a northwest Redmond intersection Monday night that sent the rider, a 19-year-old Redmond man, to St. Charles Bend with life-threatening injuries.
Police and fire medics responded around 10:15 p.m. to the crash involving a Jeep SUV and a Kawasaki motorcycle near the intersection of Northwest Maple Avenue and 22nd Street, Lieutenant Eric Beckwith said Tuesday.
The Jeep’s driver, a 59-year-old Redmond man, called 911 after the crash, stayed on scene and was determined to be uninjured, Beckwith said.
Oregon State Police also responded to assist by conducting a crash scene reconstruction.
Beckwith said Redmond Police wanted to thank OSP as well as the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, which responded to Redmond calls for service as the crash was investigated.
The investigation is continuing, the lieutenant said, and the cause of the crash has not been determined.
