CHICAGO (AP) — Police say two Chicago police officers were shot and wounded by a gunman who dropped a handgun while waiting in line at an outdoor hot dog stand with one of the officers, picked it up and opened fire. Police say the suspected gunman was captured nearby following the early Friday shooting and the officers were taken to a hospital. Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown says one officer suffered a grazing wound to his head and was released later in the morning. He says the other officer, who was shot in the leg, was hospitalized but police have described his injuries as non-life-threatening.
