Cool as a coffin temperatures as we head into Halloween weekend

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) - Howdy all, and happy Wednesday! We're continuing to see chilly temperatures across the High Desert, with highs staying in the upper 40s to low 50s and plenty of clouds sticking around. Our current chances for moisture are starting to wind down tonight, and we should see drier conditions return by tomorrow.

Now, let's talk Halloween! Friday is looking chilly, with highs only reaching the upper 40s. By the time trick-or-treating rolls around, temperatures will be dropping into the upper 30s, so this is your warning to plan ahead. A few extra layers underneath or over those costumes will be a good idea for the kiddos, and anyone else heading out to enjoy the festivities.

Looking ahead, this weekend is trending drier, although another system will be moving toward the Pacific Northwest. Like our other systems this week, much of the moisture is likely to struggle to make it over the Cascades, keeping the High Desert mostly dry. We'll continue watching how that system develops, but for now, don't expect a significant change in our local forecast. For that reason, I'm maintaining very low rain chances for Halloween.

By next week, temperatures should warm up just a bit, with highs climbing into the mid-50s. Until then, expect chilly afternoons, cool nights, and plenty of fall clouds. Stay warm, folks, enjoy Halloween, and check back for the latest updates right here on KTVZ.com!
