Russia-Ukraine war: Key things to know about the conflict

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has entered its third week, with Russian forces continuing to bombard major cities and desperate civilians hoping to escape. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said 100,000 people have been evacuated during the past two days from seven cities in the north and center of the country, including Kyiv’s suburbs. Satellite images show the huge Russian convoy that had been mired outside Kyiv has fanned out into towns and forests. U.S. President Joe Biden is to announce that the U.S., European Union and the Group of Seven countries will move to revoke Russia’s “most favored nation” trade status.
